The guy can surf slabs, as I pointed out early this year. I just didn't know he could surf left slabs, too. In terms of the infamous interference, Tiago only took off on Joel because he thought he could give Parko the penalty. Which obviously backfired. Apparently the Portuguese are out to kill Parko, but their boy was trying to do the same thing as Parko was - just turned out Pires wasn't as smart about it."

Tiago Pires demonstrou ontem contra Joel Parkinson, surf de alto nível.
Perdeu, é certo, mas partiu a loicinha toda, e encheu de orgulho toda a nação surfistica portuguesa, que no final, ficou com uma cabeça, do tamanho de uma abóbora do Entroncamento.
Aposto que até o engraçadinho do Samuel Lewis, do Surfline.com, vai tecer um ou outro elogio, depois claro, de falar da interferência, a pedido do Parko!
Vibro tanto com os heats do Tiago, que só posso dizer uma, ou melhor duas coisas: Obrigado e nunca desistas!

Pretty nasty situation...Tiago has clearly won the heat over Joel Parkinson with a 10 point ride and a 8.47, when all the sudden, and in a situation made by Parko's previous attempt on wave, Tiago was without priority and lost the lead with a interferance...
